WHAT IS INTERNAL ADDITION?
Intrauterine adhesion (also called uterine adhesion) is the condition of adhesion between the walls of the uterus due to trauma in the uterus due to the reasons we will talk about below. Intrauterine adhesions are also referred to as Asherman syndrome with the name of the person who first described them.
WHAT CAUSES INSTAL ADHESIVE?
It usually develops after a trauma (destruction) in the uterus.
Unwanted termination of pregnancy or abortion after abortion is the most common cause.
Apart from abortion, surgical intervention after the baby’s spouse is not fully released after birth or operations for fibroids in the uterus (hysteroscopic or closed/open surgeries performed on the abdomen) are other causes.
Intrauterine adhesion does not develop with a simple infection (endometritis) without a surgical trauma (destruction). The only exception to this situation is genital tuberculosis (tuberculosis), which can develop rarely.
Adhesion is classified according to its type (thin or dense) and intrauterine extent (1/3, 2/3 or all of the intrauterine cavity). Especially dense adhesions may occur again after hysteroscopic opening. In such cases, it may be necessary to perform more than one hysteroscopy.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF INSURUS ADHESION?
- Intrauterine adhesions;
- not seeing period,
- Infertility,
- increased low,
- They may show symptoms in the form of some increased pregnancy complications (premature birth, premature watering).
The most common symptom is the cessation or marked reduction of menstrual bleeding after abortion. Normally, after an abortion, menstrual bleeding is expected within 4-10 weeks in a woman who has regular menstruation. If there is no menstruation during this period, adhesion to the uterus should be suspected.
In such cases, there may be adhesions at the entrance to the uterus rather than inside the uterus. This condition can be easily distinguished by ultrasonography.
- Infertility,
- repetitive low,
- Painful menstrual bleeding (dysmenorrhea) are other symptoms.
